Developer Hippolyte Mounier has released an update to PhotoSculpt Textures, his tool for generating seamlessly tiled 3D textures from photographic images.
The software uses photogrammetric techniques to generate textures and surface geometry from two reference photos of an object. The software is capable of generating a full range of texture maps, including diffuse, specular, bump, displacement, normal, ambient occlusion and Z-depth, at a high level of detail.
PhotoSculpt Textures 2 is available now for Windows, and costs €139 (around $190) for a personal licence, or €299 ($410) for a professional licence. Students and non-profit organisations can use the software for free.
