In his workshop “Using Blender for creating impressive Web3D content based on the open standards X3D and VRML” (21.10. ?New Technologies Session“) Eckhard M. J?ger, Creative Director of area42, will show how easy it is to create impressive real-time 3D effects based of the technology of Bitmanagement, using the 3D application Blender.

The “BS Exporter for Blender” is a free and easy to use export plugin for Blender. The user of the exporter has the ability to create realistic, high-performance and interactive 3D content using the ISO standard format X3D. The resulting content can be visualized in Bitmanagement’s “BS Contact VRML/X3D” software. The exporter supports real-time shadows, static radiosity, dynamic particle effects, multitexturing, normal and enviroment mapping, movie textures, animations and interactive scripting.

The highlight of the presentation will be the unveiling of new
features of the “BS Exporter for Blender 1.10”:
improved workflow – and authoring options
advanced support for textures (including procedural textures)
export of vertex and pixel shaders
support for sound and music
